You can only take a soul with you to heaven
A sermon preached by Apostle Aje Pelser, to inspire soul winning for Jesus.
Preached at Harvester Reformational Church, Cape Town, 14th November, 2021.

Last night I dreamt about a soul that I had led to the Lord and encouraged to do foundation course. In fact, I basically forced the person to complete the foundation course, and sat with him during the classes until he finished it. He was baptized and filled with the Holy Spirit. There was just an urgency about this man’s soul that I could not explain.
About a year later he died in a shooting accident.
Last night I dreamt about him for the first time. He was working for God in a church somewhere in the East. He was actually busy. I asked him what he was doing there, as I knew that he no longer existed in the physical world and he replied: “The same as you.” It’s like he had spiritual work to do that kept him busy for God.
We recall the saying: “Only one life, t’will soon be past, only what’s done for Christ will last.”

Exhortations to save souls
1. Wisdom: It takes wisdom to save a soul
Dan 12:1 “At that time Michael shall stand up, The great prince who stands watch over the sons of your people; And there shall be a time of trouble, Such as never was since there was a nation, Even to that time. And at that time your people shall be delivered, Everyone who is found written in the book.
Dan 12:2 And many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, Some to everlasting life, Some to shame and everlasting contempt.
Dan 12:3 Those who are wise shall shine Like the brightness of the firmament, And those who turn many to righteousness Like the stars forever and ever.

2. Apostolic Doctrine: Take heed to apostolic instructions and doctrine to save yourself and those who hear you.
The sad fact is that not all the people you teach, hear what you are saying. To hear means that you do something about it. If you are not prepared to act on apostolic doctrine that reveals Christ Jesus in every scripture and situation, there is no salvation.
1Ti 4:15 Meditate on these things; give yourself entirely to them, that your progress may be evident to all.
1Ti 4:16 Take heed to yourself and to the doctrine. Continue in them, for in doing this you will save both yourself and those who hear you.

3. Lay things aside: Before you can receive salvation, the Holy Spirit will show you what to lay aside. Then you can receive the implanted word that is able to save your soul.
Jas_1:21 Therefore lay aside all filthiness and overflow of wickedness, and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls.

4. Authority: You need authority to turn a sinner from the error of his way. Death will come for him and have nothing.
Jas_5:20 let him know that he who turns a sinner from the error of his way will save a soul from death and cover a multitude of sins.

5. Use reverent fear: some people need a shock to dangle their souls over the fires of hell before they will be saved.
Jud_1:23 but others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire, hating even the garment defiled by the flesh.

6. Comfort of Christ Jesus: Be comforted with these words
Joh 14:27 Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
Joh 14:28 You have heard Me say to you, ‘I am going away and coming back to you.’ If you loved Me, you would rejoice because I said, ‘I am going to the Father,’ for My Father is greater than I.
Joh 14:29 “And now I have told you before it comes, that when it does come to pass, you may believe.
Joh 14:30 I will no longer talk much with you, for the ruler of this world is coming, and he has nothing in Me.

To summarize, ask God for wisdom to save the souls of those you hold dear.
Introduce apostolic doctrine into your speech and be well versed in the Word.
Learn to lay things aside that cause you and others to stumble. Teach your friends to do the same. Use the divine authority in the name of Jesus and in your spirit to turn sinners from the error of theirs ways, they are in darkness and you are bringing them the light. They will thank you later!
If necessary, use the fear of God and threat of eternal damnation in the fires of hell to wake them up!
Always bring the comfort of the Holy Spirit too and recall the words of Jesus and one day the ruler of this world will come for you and have nothing in you to accuse you of before God.

In the not so distant future, God will gather all things together in one into Christ, and we will see the souls of those we have witnessed to and led to salvation for Jesus.

Everything else is going to fade away but our eternal souls will live forever with Him.
