What to do when you don’t know what to do
| What to do when you don’t know what to do By Apostle Blessing from Benin, Nigeria Preached on Sunday 19 November 2006 At any time any person can be confused. When you reach that stage, what do you do? When you don't have clear direction from God, what do you do? When all decisions weigh the same, what do you do? |

Exo 17:4-6 And Moses cried unto the LORD, saying, What shall I do unto this people? they are almost ready to stone me. (5) And the LORD said unto Moses, Go on before the people, and take with you of the elders of Israel; and your rod, with which you smote the river, take in your hand, and go. (6) Behold, I will stand before you there upon the rock in Horeb; and you shall strike the rock, and there shall come water out of it, that the people may drink. And Moses did so in the sight of the elders of Israel.
The people were confused. They needed water. They did not complain to their wives or husbands. They complained to the one with the vision.
Now Moses was confused. He has not committed a sin, but he was confused. He had a great relationship with God, but he was confused.
When you are confused, what do you do?
Confusion is the twin sister of Madness. It is dangerous to remain in the confused state for a prolonged period.
God does not answer stupid questions. “Why me, Lord?” But he answers thought provoking questions. “What do I do?”
God said to him: “Go on”. The only way to get answers in the confused state, is to go on. The best way to solve a problem is to face the problem, not to run away.
God said, “Take the rod in your hand”. Take that with which you are familiar with, what you are trained in (your occupation). That is your rod. Take it and do it well.
When you are restless in the state of confusion, you increase the confusion. “Be still and know that I am God”. Commune on your bed.
Psa 4:3 But know that the LORD has set apart him that is godly for himself: the LORD will hear when I call unto him.
You are not a failure. Your life will soon be revealed in the Lord. Weep not.
Make a sacrifice that will shock the life back into you. David said he will not sacrifice of that which costs him nothing.
2Ki 3:26-27 And when the king of Moab saw that the battle was too fierce for him, he took with him seven hundred men that drew swords, to break through even unto the king of Edom: but they could not. (27) Then he took his eldest son that should have reigned in his stead, and offered him for a burnt offering upon the wall. And there came great wrath against Israel: and they departed from him, and returned to their own land.
Even the king of Moab understood sacrifice.
Don’t run away from God. Run to God.
