Comfort for God's People
Isa 40:1 "Comfort, yes, comfort My people!" Says your God.
Isa 40:2 "Speak comfort to Jerusalem, and cry out to her, That her warfare is ended, That her iniquity is pardoned; For she has received from the LORD's hand Double for all her sins."
Isa 40:3 The voice of one crying in the wilderness: "Prepare the way of the LORD; Make straight in the desert A highway for our God.
Isa 40:4 Every valley shall be exalted And every mountain and hill brought low; The crooked places shall be made straight And the rough places smooth;
Isa 40:5 The glory of the LORD shall be revealed, And all flesh shall see it together; For the mouth of the LORD has spoken."

A work of the Holy Spirit is to bring comfort to the soul. Here some thoughts that bring us comfort:

1. The war is over.
2. Listen to the correct voices in your life.
3. A highway gets you there faster.

1. The War is over: sometimes we continue fighting a war that is already won. Communications might not have reached you yet, but the war is over and you’re still fighting an enemy that is already defeated. Some things have been finished on the cross. Jesus has won victories that we need to acknowledge and walk in daily. The war over fear and anxiety, the war over condemnation of sin, the war over right standing with God, the war over sickness and oppression, the war over our past life that has been buried with him through baptism. Hear the comforting words of the Holy Spirit: “Let me help you.” “The war for your soul is over. Enter My kingdom of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.” “Live here. Operate from here. Stay here in My will for your life and don’t allow the enemy to usurp your authority and the break the peace I have brokered and paid for, won and enforced for you.”

1Jn 5:4 For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith.

2. Listen to the correct voices in your life. John the Baptist prepared the way for Jesus – make straight the way of the Lord.
"Speak comfort to Jerusalem.” When we operate in the gifts of the Spirit, we comfort:
1Co 14:3 But he who prophesies speaks edification and exhortation and comfort to men.

Are you listening to the voice of condemnation or of righteousness?
Are you listening to the voice of accusation or of acceptance?
Are you listening to the voice of fear or of faith?
Are you listening to the voice of deception or of truth?
Are you listening to the voice of bitter hatred or forgiving love?

Tune into the voice of the Holy Spirit by confessing Jesus as your Lord and saviour, and receiving the baptism of the Holy Spirit. We all have different triggers that trip us into the soulish realm of arguments that exalt against the knowledge of God and challenge Christ within the hope of glory.
Take those thoughts captive and bring them to the obedience of Christ now. Take a moment to do it now. Focus on the thoughts that rise up and choke the word in you and pop them like bubbles with a sharp pin.
My parents taught me how to win the battle in the mind and soul, by using our authority in Jesus’ name in the spiritual realm.
Each higher dimension has power over the former.
The devil has been cast out of heaven. The closest that they can get to God’s kingdom again is by attacking us. In the spirit we win. In the spirit we are seated with Him in heavenly places and every knee must bow and every tongue confess that Jesus is Lord. Don’t be drawn into the natural and soulish realms. Jesus has knocked out the devil in those realms for us, so we need to keep enforcing His victory by remaining in Christ in all things.
The moment we think we can do it ourselves; it opens the door, and we sink in the waves. Let Him help you and lift you up onto the water again.

3. A highway gets you there faster. Jesus built a highway of holiness for us to reach our destination quicker. If you consider how a road is made, the surface is scraped and flattened, beaten and tarred, and markings are painted, and signals are laid with directions to the destination. Jesus body became our highway to salvation. He was scraped and beaten and set up as a signpost to our salvation on the cross. His way is higher and when we follow Him, though we lose our life we find it.
Isa 35:8 A highway shall be there, and a road, And it shall be called the Highway of Holiness. The unclean shall not pass over it, But it shall be for others. Whoever walks the road, although a fool, Shall not go astray.
Isa 35:9 No lion shall be there, Nor shall any ravenous beast go up on it; It shall not be found there. But the redeemed shall walk there,
Isa 35:10 And the ransomed of the LORD shall return, And come to Zion with singing, With everlasting joy on their heads. They shall obtain joy and gladness, And sorrow and sighing shall flee away.
